Gender-based analysis plus
The PPSC is an independent and accountable prosecuting authority whose main objective is to prosecute cases under federal jurisdiction in a manner that is free from any improper influence. Its mandate, as set out in the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, is to initiate and conduct federal prosecutions and to advise law enforcement agencies or investigative bodies on matters relating to prosecutions or on particular investigations that may lead to prosecutions. Although the PPSC does not have sufficient resources to conduct a formal Gender-based analysis plus (GBA+), it does consider GBA+ factors including gender, inclusiveness and Employment Equity impacts on its operations.
|Governance structures||The PPSC has identified a Responsibility Center for GBA+ within the Corporate Services Branch.|
|Human resources||During fiscal 2020-21, approximately 0.2 of an FTE will be dedicated to work on GBA+ initiatives at PPSC.|
In 2020-21, the PPSC will review various guidelines and policies, including the Deskbook, to ensure that the organization considers GBA+ factors in its decision-making and that it promotes inclusiveness.
The PPSC will also examine the application of the new government-wide policy direction on Modernizing the Government of Canada's Sex and Gender Information Practices.
