Crown Takes Steps to Appeal Khawaja Sentence

OTTAWA -- April 14, 2009 – The Public Prosecution Service of Canada today announced that it plans to appeal the sentencing decision in the recent case of Momin Khawaja.

The PPSC is seeking leave to appeal to the Ontario Court of Appeal regarding the sentence of 10.5 years in addition to time served, which was imposed on March 12, 2009.
